Dance Classes in Hawley PA

Mondays

Children’s Beginner Ballet & Tap are designed to give a foundation in both forms of dance. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

Ballet classes are designed to teach the basic skills, vocabulary, and positions of classical ballet through repetition. Proper form, coordination, strengthening, and stretching are practiced weekly including limited barre work. Classroom etiquette will also be explained. Each child will work at their own level with gentle suggestions for improvements.

Students should wear leotards, tights, and have both ballet and tap shoes. Hair should be fastened away from face. No jewelry to be worn that will interfere with movement.

$15 per student per class if paying as you go. Save 10% when you pay upfront and in full ($243).

These classes build upon each other, and attendees are expected to attend all classes throughout the season upon registering for the first class on Monday, January 10th, 2022. The season completes at the end of May 2022.

Ages: 16+. Come join us for fitness and fun! We will explore several dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, and more! No pressure! No recitals! No experience necessary! Just an exploration of techniques and dance styles with other interested adults.

Classes are $15 per person, per class. There are 18 classes total for the season. Save 10% when you for the season in full upfront ($243).

Join us for all classes or attend when you can. Mondays 7-8 pm January 10th through the end of May 2022.

Wednesdays

Musical Theater Dance Class for ages 7-13. Students will learn basic dance for musical theater through a structured class filled with fun, repetition, and imagination while developing coordination and self-confidence.

These classes build upon each other, and attendees are expected to attend all classes throughout the season upon registering for the first class on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

$15/class – students are expected to register for the season, but late registrants may be accepted.

Intermediate Jazz: Ages 10-15. Intermediate Jazz classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and expression. Students will learn a variety of styles and jazz techniques from standard to street jazz (early hip hop). Exercises and techniques focus on building flexibility, coordination, and expression of movement. As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

These classes build upon each other, and attendees are expected to attend all classes throughout the season upon registering for the first class on Wednesday, January 12th. The season ends in May 2022 with a dance recital for families and friends.

Students are expected to wear leotards, tights and jazz or ballet shoes.

Hawley Hub Introduces The Eddy Studio

Calling all dreamers, makers, movers, shakers and self-recreators, an innovative new project is taking place in Downtown Hawley. The Hawley Hub reclaims the old Murray building on Main Avenue, as a multi-purpose space for the community with emphasis on the arts and self-enrichment. A multi-phased project, the Hawley Hub is first opening their upstairs space, The Eddy Studio, for yoga, dance, theater, art and fitness classes beginning July 6th. Among a few of the existing classes are Broadway Workouts where participants dance for fitness and learn Broadway moves to a new show tune every class, as well as Scene Study Classes for Actors, Intro to Theatre for Kids, All-Levels-Yoga and more!
